As a bit of a more recent darling in the specialty coffee world "Pink Bourbon", as a variety, has become synonymous with extremely high quality. 

Recently that has also shifted to controversy and confusion.

Pink Bourbon is not a Bourbon variety. Confused?

Originally thought to be either a natural mutation of either yellow or red bourbon or a hybrid of the two, recent genetic testing has shown it to be an Ethiopian Landrace variety. How the original seed stock got to Colombia in the first place remains a mystery, though a few viable theories are floating about the digital coffee realms. All we know for certain is that "Pink Bourbon" is not a Bourbon and is an absolutely, flipping delicious, complex and sweet variety of coffee.
