Today, specialty coffee plays an important role in the towns prosperity and in ensuring its future is one of peace and not of recurrent conflict. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eIn 2013, a small group of 17 growers formed the first regional association, called\u003cem\u003e Grupo Empresarial Buesaco\u003c\/em\u003e. Taste them side by side or enjoy them one by one the choice is yours, all we can say is that they are delicious and we can’t choose a favourite!\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Ligia Merizalde and Leopoldo Andrade set out to have their own company, to be part of the environmental landscape of specialty coffee production in Ecuador and to produce sustainable coffee. In 2014 Finca La Josefina was developed and is located within the Cayambe-Coca Natural Reserve, the largest protected area with the biggest plant and animal diversity in Ecuador.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Named in honour of their grandmother, La Josefina is divided into more than 15 small batches, each batch is planted with a single variety only allowing for specific attention to each variety based on its needs. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cem\u003eTypica\u003c\/em\u003e forms the genetic backbone of much of specialty coffee and has an elegant, floral and fruit-forward cup profile. This washed lot is exactly that with notes of sweet red grape, cola and hints of vanilla. Couldn’t be more typica-l of the variety. Taste them side by side or enjoy them one by one the choice is yours, all we can say is that they are delicious and we can’t choose a favourite!\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Ligia Merizalde and Leopoldo Andrade set out to have their own company, to be part of the environmental landscape of specialty coffee production in Ecuador and to produce sustainable coffee. In 2014 Finca La Josefina was developed and is located within the Cayambe-Coca Natural Reserve, the largest protected area with the biggest plant and animal diversity in Ecuador.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Named in honour of their grandmother, La Josefina is divided into more than 15 small batches, each batch is planted with a single variety only allowing for specific attention to each variety based on its needs. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cem\u003eTypica\u003c\/em\u003e forms the genetic backbone of much of specialty coffee and has an elegant, floral and fruit-forward cup profile. This washed lot is exactly that with notes of sweet red grape, cola and hints of vanilla. Couldn’t be more typica-l of the variety.
